Material Structure Glossary

RIGID CAST CO-EXTRUDED:

  • Thickness range 200 to 1800 microns, widths up to 60"
  • All webs can be constructed with or without EVOH. Sealant layer can be designed for weld or peel seals.
  • APET/PE/EVOH/PE
  • METALLIZED APET WITH GOLD TINTING
  • POLYPROPYLENE
  • EXPANDED POLYPROPYLENE
  • HIGH CLARITY POLYPROPYLENE
  • POLYSTYRENE
  • EXPANDED POLYSTYRENE
  • HIGH DENSITY POLYETHYLENE

FLEXIBLE 7 LAYER CAST CO-EXTRUDED:

  • Thickness range 65 to 400 microns, widths up to 82"
  • All structures can be constructed, with or without EVOH, with boilable tie layers and U.V. light inhibitors for using as a multipurpose for high oxygen barrier, retail and cook-in applications.
  • All flexible forming films 7 layer cast co-extrusions have an outside layer of PP
  • PP/PA/EVOH/PA/PE

Depending on the application, the sealants are as follows.

METALLOCENE:

  • Metallocene is known for the ability to seal through heavily contaminated seals, puncture resistance and ultra-high clarity.
  • With very quick hot tack, metallocene is a perfect sealant for high line speeds in wet, heavily contaminated sealing applications. It is also noted for extremely low odor transmission.

LLDPE:

  • For use in dry, frozen, reheating and high temperature cook-in the bag above 200 F.
  • The quick chill cast process produces a high clarity LLDPE sealant to allow for good product presentation.

CONVENTIONAL LAMINATES with and without barrier:

  • PET/PE
  • OPP/PE/EVOH/PE
  • METALLIZED PET
  • CPP (cast polypropylene)

Each substrate can be customized to the desired application, utilizing various sealants and variable degrees of oxygen barriers.

PRINTING:

  • Up to 10 colors flexo printed with photopolymer plates
  • Outstanding process printing capabilities
